Nest reading 263 degrees in the house...

I changed the batteries today and when it came back on its reading 263 degrees in the house...

 

I reset it and now it's only 261 degrees...

 

I've factory reset it and am reconnecting it via iphone.

Thanks for bringing this up here in the Google Nest community. Let's check this out. What type of batteries did you use in the Nest Thermostat? What we suggest for The Nest Thermostat uses 2 standard 1.5 V AAA alkaline batteries that you’ll need to replace when they get low.

 

Also, can you touch the Nest Thermostat display to see if it's hot to touch? If yes, rate it one to ten, with ten being the hottest.
