Nest stuck on Home Icon

PaulB2
Community Member

I have a nest thermostat stuck on the home Icon on booting up. I have reset it (push ring in for 10 seconds) at least 20 times to no avail. The thermostat has been working for years and then we put in 2 new heat pumps to the building. It was unplugged for months as the part came in that helps the thermostat be compatible with the heat pump. The downstairs thermostat works fine and its the same set up as the upstairs one that is stuck. So its not the part or the wiring.

I have charged it on the wall as well as via a usb cable plugged into the wall. Left it charging over night. It won't go past the home icon in every situation.

How can I get the thermostat to move past the home icon on start up?

Hi PaulB2,

Thanks for posting ― let's get this sorted.

A quick question: when was the last time this worked?

Best,

Mel

Several months ago. I recently called tech support and they said connect to a computer via usb. I did and no folders popped up. They said since no folders were popping up, theres a problem with the mother board.
