After the heater cuts off the fan stop’s automatically but the heating element glows red for a few seconds. My old thermostat had a setting in it to keep the fan on for a set amount of time after the heater cuts off. How come this high dollar thermostat doesn’t.

Hi Buckholt,
Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat isn't operating properly with the fan, but no need to worry; help is here.
If your system has a dedicated fan wire, you can manually activate the fan using the app or your thermostat, or you can create a fan schedule. You can activate Fan control with a Nest thermostat or schedule the fan to run automatically or manually.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Gabriela

That’s not what I meant. I mean when the heat and fan is running then it goes to cut off the fan stops as soon as the heating element does so the element continues to glows for a little after that. Where as it should be able to run 30 seconds to a minute after the element turns of to be able to cool down the element.
