Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help with a problem that I'm having with my nest thermostat. It started having problems where it would not charge and the usb power was not enough to charge and keep it on at the same time. I therefore replaced the battery however the problem seemed to still persist but only when it was plugged in via its base ring connector. I therefore thought there was a problem with the base ring connector so I bought a new one however it still doesn't work. I have now tried replacing the existing usb power supply and am now using a 12v DC power supply although it is still flashing up with a low power warning after a few hours and then shutting down.

Hi Rob94,
Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest thermostat 3rd Gen keeps turning off. I'm happy to assist you right now.
I appreciate your attempt to resolve the issue. It seems like your thermostat was not receiving enough power from the HVAC system. You attempted to charge it using a USB cord, but the charging was unsuccessful. This Google thermostat is a sealed product. Our recommendation is not to replace the thermostat's internal battery because doing so can harm your Nest thermostat, your HVAC system, and your thermostat's warranty.
I can help you to check your HVAC system. If you agree, can you please send me a picture of the wiring of the thermostat?
Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.
Regards,
Gabriela
