I live in Florida and at times my HVAC fails.....can be any number of reasons.....my question is as I know Honeywell can, can I set an alert if the home temperture - say goes to 80 ....this way I would know something is wrong if the thermostt is set to cool at 74

Hi JohnnyBiscotti,

Thanks for bringing this up. We'd be happy to take a look into this for you. What I can suggest using is our thermostat safety temperature alert. This will send you a notification when the temperature reaches above set points and another notification once everything is back to normal. Follow the steps below to set it up:

  1. Open the Nest app.
  2. Tap Settings Nest settings icon on the home screen.
  3. Select Notifications.
  4. Select Nest Learning Thermostat  and select Safety temperatures.

Safety temperatures can protect your home during extremely cold or hot weather. When your home reaches a set temperature limit, your thermostat will turn on heating or cooling even if the thermostat is set to off. This can help ensure that your pipes won't freeze or your home won't overheat.

Let us know if that works.

Cheers,

Renz
