Nest thermostat blows cold air when temp is changed by 2 deg

Have a Nest Learning Thermostat (1st gen) (Model: GA02081-US).
At night I have the heat scheduled go to 65 deg.
In the morning it is schedule to go to 69 deg.
The fan starts up at schedule time but only blows cold air (no heat), and display shows "Delayed for 2hours" or "in 2 hours".

To get it to heat, i need to set the temp to no more than 2 deg above the current temp, turn it off then back on.

NOTE
I have the same problem with cooling.
Any change of more the 2 deg (lowering temp) then only the fan is turned on.

Hi ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I am sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is not working as expected, changing the temperature 2 degrees when it is cooling or heating, but there's no need to worry; I'm happy to assist you right now.

To get a better understanding of the situation, please help me out by answering the following questions:

  • What type of HVAC system do you have?
  • What other strange symptoms have you experienced since the problem started?
  • Is there a wiring report or error message on your thermostat and/or app?
  • Can you please send me a picture of the Nest Thermostat wiring?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Regards,

Gabriela
