Nest thermostat fan does not run in auto

Want to post for others.  Purchased a 2021 Nest thermostat. I have an oil furnace with an air handler in the attic.  Its a 4 wire system (RGYW). The fan would not run automatically when called for heat.   Manual mode worked fine.  After a couple hours of troubleshooting with the help line (the tech was very helpful), it turned out that I had to do a factory reset and select gas as the type of fuel.   That allowed the option to come up to select the auto mode for the fan.

Worked like a champ after that.  Hope this helps

I have the same issue but with the a/c on. I can manually operate the fan and set it to run for a specific length of time but it won't come on or off automatically with the a/c 

I have same problem with fan not working automatically. Someone please help, thanks.

have same problem with fan not working on auto with a/c on.  it will work manually, but want to use the auto on feature.

I have the same issue. I did the factory reset. It worked once and then it won't work again.
