Nest thermostat keeps turning on

Jill_S

My heating keeps coming on even though it is set to be off.
I’m the only user. I want to set it for an hour in the morning, going off at 7, then coming back on c 7.30pm. The other night I woke up and the heat was blazing at 2am. if I check the app during the day, the heat is on. I have lost count of the number of times I have switched it off.
I’ve tried resetting the schedule. I’ve deleted every setting only to go back into the app and find that the old settings are there. I set the overnight temp at 9c, but when I go into the app, it’s reset to 18c. I am paranoid about the amount of energy being used when I’m not here.

Hi Jill_S,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the trouble this has caused you. I'd like to take a closer look at it. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? In what country are you located? Checking your thermostat's Energy History will help you see what your thermostat is doing previously. Also, please provide your thermostat's power readings.

You can follow the guide below:

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. Open the Google Home app and then tap the thermostat and then tap Settings .
  2. Select the Device Information.
  3. Choose Technical Information.

Best,

Jenelyn
