Nest thermostat - not worth the effort

After installation of the Nest thermostat, google home prevented me from accessing it. Took less than 30 minutes to install, 30 minutes to download and register everything on my phone (kept taking me in circles) an hour trying to get google home to work, I gave up. Really wanted the nest to work, but oh well. Went to Menard's and got a programmable one for 30 bucks, 15 minutes later we have heat. 

I'm not a novice either, I have an AC, 2 furnaces, 3 thermostats, years of programming, and decades of fixing stuff under my belt. But google home - nope!

It sounds really frustrating! Nest thermostats can be tricky to set up, especially with multiple HVAC systems. Sometimes Google Home integration adds extra complexity that even experienced users find challenging. For a quick and reliable solution, a standard programmable thermostat like you switched to often works best, especially when simplicity and immediate control are priorities.
