Nest thermostat

I have 3 second generation thermostats that will soon no longer be supported or controllable thru the nest or goggle apps

For the past month or so, none  of my thermostats will show  their use history in the nest app.

Nest wants me to purchase 3 new thermostats to replace my soon to be unsupported ones.

I'm concerned.... am I just throwing good money after bad and should go with another smart thermostat instead?

anyone have a thought on this?

Hi @Johnrcape,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you have three Nest Learning Thermostats (2nd gen) that will be affected by the upcoming end-of-support for those specific models, including the 1st gen models, and that you haven't been able to see their history in the Nest app for the past month. I'm happy to assist you.

Even though the Nest Learning Thermostats (1st and 2nd gen) will no longer connect to or work in the Google Nest or Google Home app starting on October 25, 2025, we were aware of an issue that was impacting the ability to view your Energy History in the Nest app. This issue is not related to the end-of-support for those thermostats. This issue should now be resolved as of July 29, 2025, at 9:30 PM Pacific Time, and Nest users should now be able to view their thermostat's energy history in the Nest app as expected.

Please confirm if you're currently able to access the Energy History for your thermostats in the Nest app.

Regards,

Anders
