Nest time to temperature not showing anymore

House only has heating. Usually set to between 19-21C and  increased or decreased as required manually with the app.  No Auto leaning -set to off . Yesterday some guests set temp to 31C! So system usage for the day was for 9 hours instead of the usual 2-4 hours. But system still heating and orange glow comes on when I manually set temperature. But No Time to temperature showing anymore. Can you please help? No other issues

Also, Is there a way to adjust/ toggle  the "time to temperature" setting between "Ready" and "off"? Then perhaps I can try that ?

Hi curioustoknow,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that time to temperature is not showing on your Nest Thermostat anymore. When your heating system starts working and the orange glow comes out when you go on manual mode, then it means something is on. However, you can no longer see the “Time to Temperature” inscription on your Nest thermostat. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot:

  1. Time-to-Temperature estimates will only appear for temperatures that you've manually set with the thermostat or the Nest or Home app. Temperatures that you've put into your schedule and temperatures added by Auto-Schedule won't have a Time-to-Temperature displayed. So, make sure that you've cleared the schedules of your Nest Thermostat and Auto-Schedule is turned off by going to Settings > Auto Schedule > Off.
  2. Power cycle your Nest Thermostat removing it from the wall plate or turn of the power supply at circuit breaker. Disconnect and unplug it out for some moments before reconnection or turning on supply.
  3. Always ensure that the latest Nest Thermostat firmware is running on your thermostat. Any bugs and problems in the current firmware may be resolved by updating. You can also go the Nest App where there are instructions for updating firmware or you can even visit nest support websites.
  4. You can also conduct a factory reset to fix the problem if it does not stop. Remember that doing so will delete your settings altogether; you will have to set up the thermostat from scratch.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe

Thanks for your message.  Funnily enough, the display started showing the time to temperature for a couple of days. It stopped again. I am not at home and unable to return anytome soon. Is there any fix that can be tried remotely?

Hi there,

Thanks for keeping me in the loop. Troubleshooting the Nest Thermostat requires you to be in front of it for better connectivity and communication. I'll keep this thread open until you come back from the location where the thermostat is installed so we can take a closer look.

Regards,

Zoe
