Nest won't power off when furnace if off. I used breaker and off switch next to furnace.

Trying to replace nest 2 with new generation 4.  I can turn off furnace by both breaker and switch but the power to nest is still on.  Not sure how to proceed.

Figured out that if I wait 5 minutes, the nest thermostat shows power off.   Good to go.
