Hi @Charles95,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I understand you have questions regarding your Nest Thermostat modes and features, I’d be happy to help you. Let’s check it out.

Before we get started with further details, let me ask you some questions

  1. What Nest Thermostat model do you have?
  2. Does the thermostat display show any error codes or messages, in addition to the icon available to choose?
  3. Are you able to share a picture of your wiring?
  4. Can you provide me with more details about your HVAC system?

Even if the icon is available, there are a few reasons why you might not activate a cooling mode option in your Nest Thermostat:

  • Regional Availability: Nest thermostats might offer different features depending on the region they are sold in. In some countries, cooling functionality might not be as widely used or supported.
  • Model Limitations: Certain Nest Thermostat models might be designed primarily for heating or offer limited functionality depending on the variant.

Here's what you can do to confirm:

  • Check Nest Website or App: Look for information about Nest Thermostat features and compatibility in your specific region. The official Nest website or app might have a regional product information section where you can find details about available features.

You can check the following article to verify your Nest thermostat compatibility.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Mario
