Hi Trinabinna15,

Yikes! If you're experiencing intermittent power issues with the "RH" (heating) terminal of your thermostat, it could be caused by a few different factors. Here are some possible explanations and troubleshooting steps to consider:

  1. Check the wiring connections at the thermostat and the HVAC system to ensure they are tight and secure. A loose connection can result in intermittent power loss. Carefully inspect the RH terminal and corresponding wire to ensure they are properly attached.
  2. Examine the wires connected to the RH terminal for any signs of damage, fraying, or wear. If you notice any issues, it may be necessary to replace the wire or repair the damaged section.
  3. It's possible that the thermostat itself is experiencing a malfunction that causes intermittent power loss in the RH terminal. Try resetting the thermostat to its default settings, and if the issue persists, you may need to consider replacing the thermostat with a new one.
  4. It's also possible that the problem lies within the HVAC system itself. There could be a faulty relay, transformer, or other component that is causing intermittent power loss to the RH terminal. In such cases, it's best to contact a professional HVAC technician to inspect and diagnose the issue.
  5. In rare cases, power fluctuations or issues with the electrical supply to your home could cause intermittent power loss to specific circuits, including the RH terminal. If you suspect this may be the case, consider contacting an electrician to assess the electrical system in your home.

To pinpoint the exact cause of the intermittent power loss, it may be helpful to observe the behavior of the thermostat and HVAC system when the issue occurs. Document any patterns or specific conditions that lead to the problem, as this information can be valuable for troubleshooting and diagnosing the issue. If you're uncertain about performing any of the troubleshooting steps or if the problem persists, it's advisable to consult with a professional HVAC technician who can inspect your system and provide appropriate solutions.

Let us know if that helps.

Best,

Zoe
