If your Google Nest thermostat is not cooling to the preset temperature, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

### 1. **Check Thermostat Settings:**
- Ensure that your Nest thermostat is set to "Cool" mode and not "Heat" or "Off".
- Verify the target temperature is set correctly.

### 2. **Inspect the HVAC System:**
- Check your HVAC system to ensure it is running and that there are no obvious issues, such as a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse.
- Ensure that the air filter is clean and not clogged, as a dirty filter can restrict airflow.

### 3. **Restart the Thermostat:**
- Restart your Nest thermostat by going to Settings > Reset > Restart.
- You can also manually restart it by pressing and holding the thermostat ring for about 10 seconds until it turns off and then back on.

### 4. **Check Wi-Fi Connection:**
- Ensure your Nest thermostat is connected to your Wi-Fi network. A connection issue could prevent it from receiving updates or functioning correctly.

### 5. **Calibrate the Thermostat:**
- Ensure that your Nest thermostat is properly calibrated. You can do this by navigating to Settings > Technical Info > Equipment and following the calibration instructions.

### 6. **System Maintenance:**
- Perform regular maintenance on your HVAC system, including cleaning or replacing air filters and checking for any obstructions in the vents.

### 7. **Check for System Errors:**
- Go to Settings > Equipment on your Nest thermostat to check for any error messages or alerts about your HVAC system.

### 8. **Update Firmware:**
- Make sure your Nest thermostat is running the latest firmware version. This can be done by going to Settings > Software > Update.

### 9. **Reset the Thermostat:**
- If all else fails, you might need to perform a factory reset on your Nest thermostat. Go to Settings > Reset > All Settings. Note that this will erase all your settings, and you will need to set up your thermostat again from scratch.

### 10. **Contact Support:**
- If none of the above steps work, contact Google Nest support for further assistance. There might be an underlying issue that requires professional help.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with your Google Nest thermostat not cooling to the preset temperature.
