Heat pump system. Nest randomly quit energizing O wire and system is stuck heating since reversing valve isn’t energized. Any idea why this might happen and what I can do to resolve? Thermostat is about 3 years old.

Having same issue did you get it resolved?

Nope, ended up buying an Ecobee and gave my nest away to a guy who’s system didn’t have a o wire - he said it worked just fine for him 🤷🏻♂️

O wire flips the reversing valve, same pump heats and cools you. His system is just heating or cooling.....I have the same problem as you.....Don't see many answers from the gods about why the most expensive thermostat device is not working....

Called Nest help desk and they said warranty ran out must buy a new one after being on the phone for 30 min with them instead of just telling me from the start the warranty was up. Bought a new one and now it works issue seems to be the thermostat itself.

So the answer is to buy a new one every year? I didn't get a year out of this one. Got it as a gift, don't know where the buyer got it or much more......

You can call them and see but be warned they were asking for invoices from my HVAC repair man and everything

Not worth the hassle. It looks impressive and has nice weight, but is a turd. The Honeywells last years for $50.
