Outdoor temp on Nest app

My nest app shows an outdoor temp about 15 degrees higher than the actual outdoor temp.  I've re-installed the app, and reset the thermostat to factory's settings.  Interestingly, if I set farsight to display the weather, the thermostat shows the correct outdoor temp when farsight is activated.  

The auxiliary heater is not coming on when needed - which I assume is due to the thermostat telling the system it's 40 degrees outside, not 25.  It gets cold at night !  Help.

Thank you for posting in the community.  I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is giving you the wrong temperature.  I'm happy to help you!

At the moment, i need to ask a few questions to give the correct troubleshooting:

• What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
• Where did you install your thermostat? (in a room and on a wall or stand)
• When did the inconvenience start?
• Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • If yes: Would you mind listing them?
• What is the brand/model of the HVAC/heat pump?
  
• To help us get a better picture of what's happening, do you mind sharing a photo of the Nest Thermostat wiring?
