Pre-Cooling Around TOU Rates

Hi, I'm trying to understand how Energy Shift works around TOU rates. My electricity is most expensive during the summer between 2pm and 7pm. I am signed up for Nest Renew and have given it my utility rate plan. Here is what I would like it to do:

  • Pre-cool my house by 3 degrees before 2pm
  • No cooling between 2pm and 7pm
  • At 7pm, resume cooling

How much of this do I have to schedule manually, and how much does Nest do automatically?

Is there a way for me to tell Nest that pre-cooling to reach the 2pm setpoint is fine, but that I don't want it to pre-cool to reach the 7pm setpoint, because that would happen during peak rates?

Thank you!
