Presence sensing not working since 1st Mar

Dark360

Hi,

I have been using Google Home for years without many issues, but I have noticted today that my Google Home app show no activity since the 1st Mar.

Nothing has changed in regards to my settings, but it has suddenly stopped working and my heating has been on for 6 days.

The Google Home app was updated on 1st Mar, which may or may not be a coincidence.

Unfortunately, I do not have an answer, but I experience the exact same problem... I did notice that when I change it (location settings in Nest instead of Home) it did work for exactly one day. I did change it back now to the Google Home, because I also want to auto turn off my lights which are not from Nest of course.

I ended up deleting and setting up my home from scratch. Not the best of options, but it worked.

Hey Dark360,

I am glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue, and everything is working from here. Thanks so much for also sharing what had helped resolve the issue. I wanted to check back in with you, and see if you had any further questions from here. Please let me know, as I would be happy to review.

Hey MisterMarcoo,

I wanted to follow up with you, and see if you have tried the same steps Dark360 recommended? Let me know if you are having any trouble, as I would be happy to take a closer look.

Best regards,

Jake

So, you deleted your home from the Google Home app and then reconnected everything?

Or did you remove your home from the Google Home app and also deleted it from your phone?

I must say, the last few days it does seem to work normal for some reason.

Hi MisterMarcoo,

Thanks for reaching out. You may try to turn off and on the Presence Sensing feature of your Nest Thermostat before you follow the steps that Dark360 made.

Let us know if that helps.

I appreciate the help, @Jake

Thanks,
Zoe

Hello Princess,

Thank you for checking in. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to test it out. I also saw a post here  where a user mentions that his wife had to make a few adjustments in her Google Home app to make it work correctly. I would like to first try that out before removing everything from my house again.

I will update you later, thanks again for checking in.

Best,

Marco
