Hi MLS49,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

Nest thermostats offer a high degree of customization for the information you receive, so let's break it down to help you learn more about your equipment!

Nest thermostats monitor for irregularities in your system, primarily related to heating and cooling options. You'll receive notifications about any abnormalities through the Nest app and Google Home via push notifications.

While there isn't a direct notification for power loss, you can set up alerts to provide warnings before your equipment reaches a point where it will completely shut down. To activate these alerts in the Google Home app:

  1. Log in to the Google Home app.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Digital Wellbeing.
  4. Select Thermostat.
  5. Select HVAC monitoring.
  6. Use the checkboxes to enable or disable each alert method.

These alerts should help you maintain control of your HVAC system, preventing unexpected shutdowns and allowing you to plan for necessary maintenance.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Angel.
