Re: Selling your home along with a Nest Thermostat?

RandA

Hi,

I have just moved into a property with a nest thermostat and a heat link. I can’t get the two to connect to each other, nor can I get the code for the thermostat to connect it to the app. Is this an internet issue? My WiFi is getting turned on on Monday so do I have to wait for this to be on, or is there a way I can connect the both without the internet?

No this is not an internet problem just a pairing issue. Talked about dozens of times on here, have a search and you will find the answer. Yes you can connect without any internet connection, that's only needed for the app.

Hi @RandA,

I appreciate you taking the time to post in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues connecting the Nest Thermostat to the heat link. Don't worry; help is here.

Before we continue, I have some questions:

  • Is the thermostat showing an H71 error code?
  • Could you please tell me if the heat link shows any light and tell me what color it is?
  • How far away is the thermostat from the heat link?
  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?

In the meantime you can take a look at the following article: How to pair the Nest thermostat and Heat Link.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Derick.

Hi Derick,

Yes it says H17 error. It is in the living room which is in the room next to the heat link. The heat link has a blue flashing light and then two green lights. I have tried connecting it next to the heat link but that didn’t work either. The previous owner had the thermostat in the living room. I am not sure what thermostat it is as there is no code on the thermostat.

thanks,

Did you not search this forum for the solution? Upload a picture of the display, and we will tell you the model. With a blue pulsing light and two green lights if the heat link button is pressed, I would say you have a 3rd Gen!!

I think it is 3rd gen, but they just won’t connect to each other

3rd gen is fine, as mentioned have you searched the forum? I have covered this problem dozens of times!

I have, but I’m not sure what I’m meant to be looking for. That’s why I came here for some help. What do I need to look for?

I would search for exactly the problem.

What exactly have you tried? Explain everything you have done clearly, in detail and we can go from there. Without all the information I don’t know which part you are missing to pair.
