Recent issue with Heating

We have had our Nest thermostat for nearly 5 years and we just started having issues with the furnace not heating up even though the Nest says it is heating.  We can go into the app on our phone and turn off/on then it starts working.  Is this a thermostat issue or furnace issue?  I want to get it fixed either way prior to burning up this summer or freezing to death this winter.

We have only had the Google Nest since last year but having same issue.  We keep it set at 67 degrees, but at some points during the day we will notice the room temp is at 64 degrees.  But the thermostat and app says its “Heating” and give the time to set temperature.  If we turn temperature down then back up to 67, it will then come on.  Again, 90% of time its working ok but this will happen about 2 to 3 times per day.  I shut off all presence sensing and location data but still happening.

Hey all,

Thanks for posting here in the community.

We'll need to further isolate the issue if it is coming from the HVAC unit or from the thermostat. We could check your HVAC filters and drip pans. Sometimes, clogging can make this behavior happen. Check if your system's switches and fuses are fine.

Also, you could refresh your thermostat's connection to your unit by removing the thermostat from the base and making sure all the wires are properly seated.

Best regards,

Ryan
