So, we were having issues with our Nest no longer connecting to WiFi. I went online and chatted with tech support that after testing some things said the Nest would be replaced under warranty. They sent a replacement that did not work, sent it back. Now, when I chatted with the second guy about returning the 'defective' replacement I asked him if it could perhaps be the back-plate, his reply was 'No, they are all the same'. Fast forward now to the second warranty replacement I got and it has the same issue as the first replacement. OK, time to swap out the back-plate, works just like it should. Not sure why or how the simple wiring back-plate would make a difference but it did. In short had I not listened to the 'Tech' support guy the first replacement they sent would have worked just fine.
This is not a negative post, I just want people to be aware that when you get a replacement from Google change out everything not just the Nest, regardless of what you are told. Other than this my experience with them was very positive.....
