Hi there. Trying to reset my password. However, I no longer have access to the email account that I originally mused to set up the account. Is there a way to unpair my Nest from its account and start over?

Here is what you need to do. Go into your Nest App or Google Home app and go into settings and scroll down to “remove thermostat”. This will delete the connection to the Nest Thermostat. At this point you will need to access the thermostat and link a new account to the thermostat. However, if you do not have access to the QR code of the thermostat you will not be able to reset the thermostat. This is a software security feature to prevent a Nest thermostat from being stolen then re-used by the thief.

Thanks! Would the QR code be in the device itself? Or, would I need the original packaging?

When you wake up the when you wake up the display, enter SETUP, then Nest App, you can display the PIN or the QR code. On the 3rd Generation Learning Thermostats the QR code is also on the back of the display.
