Target temp in 45 mins?

MarkB23

My smart learning thermostat seems stuck at 64 degrees. When I raise the setting it just gives me this delay message that it will hit my desired temp in 45-55 mins. I tuned off all the schedules, learning and eco settings but it still does not react when I reset the temp.  Very frustrating. I have. A second floor one that works fine. Why is there such a delay and is something else going on that I can reset?  I have reset the unit a couple of times.

Hello MarkB23,

Thanks for reaching out. I appreciate all the steps you've taken, and I understand this can be frustrating when your heat doesn't reach your target temperature.

A power-related issue might be the reason why it's showing a delay timer as your thermostat is communicating with your system, but your system isn't sufficient enough to reach the target temperature.

To isolate:

  • Could you please share with us a photo of your thermostat's wiring?
  • What's the current temperature and your target temperature?
  • Did you see any wiring reports or message codes?
  • Please gather the power readouts on your actual thermostat's settings. "Equipment" option for the Nest Thermostat 2020 and "Technical Info" for the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark

Hey there,

I wanted to see if you still needed help. I found a helpful article that would tell about the common wire as you might be experiencing a power-related issue with your HVAC system.  Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

 Regards,

Mark
