Temperature controlled fan only mode

I have a gas furnace without air conditioning controlled by a Nest learning thermostat. I'd like to run the furnace fan without heat when the temperature reaches a set level. I can run the furnace fan on a schedule, but my house gets hot at different times of day, depending on the weather.

Every where I've looked says fan-only can run only on a schedule. Does Nest have a temperature controlled fan only feature on the roadmap? If not, is there a workaround?

Hey richardc,

I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. I found an article with more details on the fan settings. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,
Jake

I read the article and can run my furnace on a schedule, but I'd like to run it based on temperature, like cool mode without air conditioning. My previous simple thermostat could do this, and I'm surprised the the Next cannot.

Is there any way to make this work?

I'm also interested in this as electricity is extremely expensive in my area.  Would like to see fan-only first, then AC at a separate threshold.

edit: it's probably doable using IFTTT or other integrated service, I'll report back if I find something simpler and "not another subscription cloud service"
