Thermostat Base has shorted Out

After a power surge my Nest Thermostat stopped working. After my failure to troubleshoot the location of the problem on my own, I called a technician whom diagnosed I need a replacement thermostat base for my 3rd Generation Nest Learning Thermostat.

I was looking for advice the best way to acquire a new one.
