Thermostat Nest E not connecting

Tried to install the Nest E through the App and it won't connect.

Initially, the thermostat was registered on the App but it wouldn't connect with the Heat Link. So, I've done all sorts of resets/restarts, removal of the device from the App, turned off VPN as suggested in the online forums. And now the thermostat won't even connect to the App! 

Any suggestions? 

This was suggested as an easy set up and product and it isn't. Very disappointed with this product.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • When your Nest Thermostat E fails to connect to the app or the Heat Link, do you see a specific error code on the display or the app?
  • What is the color of your Heat Link's light?
  • What is the distance between the Heat Link and the thermostat?
  • Is your phone’s Bluetooth turned on during the pairing process?
