I own 2 Nest thermostats, both model Display 3.4, software 6.2-27
Both have worked perfectly for years. Both now have a strange problem. At least 2 times a week, both of them, ON THEIR OWN, turn up the heat. One turns it up to 70 degrees, the other to 72 degrees, even though both are manually set to about 66 degrees, This occurs at approx. 11:20 PM on the nights when it occurs.
ALL automations are turned off. No schedules are set. Learning is turned off. Home-Away Assist is off. I have checked Google Home and there is nothing set there that would cause this. It's not random, it's the same time when it happens, and the same temperatures, listed above, on each thermostat.
I am at my wits end, does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

Hi awardb,
Uh-oh! the behavior you described with your Nest Thermostats turning up the heat on their own at a specific time is indeed unusual. Ensure that your Nest Thermostats have the latest software update installed. Double-check the temperature settings on both thermostats to ensure they are set to your desired temperature of 66 degrees. Revert any recent changes to your heating system or Wi-Fi network. If the issue persists, try resetting both thermostats to their factory default settings and reconfiguring them from scratch. This will help eliminate potential software glitches or incorrect settings causing the problem.
Let us know if that works.
Best,
Zoe

I just figured out what was causing it. My wife has a routine set up on her iPad at night, when she invokes it from her Google Home device, that tells her tomorrow's temperature and weather, starts a "white noise" program, and a couple of other things. NONE of those things involves the thermostats that I can see. But I figured out that when she starts that routine, it turns up the one Nest to 70 degrees, and the other one to 72 degrees. Every time. Even though there is no mention of thermostats or temperature in the routine. So we just deleted the routine, and now all is good. Go figure!
Thanks for the response!
