Thermostat setting

Dixie8823

Hi

I've just moved into a house with a Nest Learning Thermostat. I want to control the schedule myself so have turned auto-schedule off. I would like the heating to come on for an hour in the morning so I've set a temperature in at the required time but it never comes on.

How do I go about just having it come on for an hour.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you have it connected to the phone app, you can tap on the icon at the bottom of the screen that says "Schedule."  I think you can set up your weekly schedule on that.  (I wish they had an access to that feature on the user profile screen on a desktop; it would be so much easier.)

Thanks for the reply.

I go into app and choose a time and the symbol appears where I adjust the temperature but the heating never actually comes on. Am I missing something?

Hi folks,

@Dixie8823 and @PVDub, yikes! Let's sort this out. A few questions:

  1. Are you located fin North America or Europe?
  2. Does the thermostat screen indicate that it’s actively calling for heating?
  3. What type of furnace do you have? (gas, electric, etc.)
  4. When did heating last work?
  5. Did you turn off the power to the HVAC system?
    • Did you recently turn off any breakers?
    • Have you recently experienced a brownout or blackout?
    • Is there a light switch near the heater that controls an outlet?
  6. Are the furnace's air filter good?

Also, gather the power readings of your Nest Learning Thermostat's Battery, VOC, VIN , and lIN under Settings > Technical Info > Power.

Keep us posted.

I appreciate your input, @Kudzuvine

Best,

Zoe
