I have a 4th Generation Nest and my heat is in floor Radiant, and an Oil fired boiler. I'm using the iOS App. There seems to be no way from stopping it from preheating. It comes on 2 hours early like clockwork. I have True Radiant turned off, but there seems to be none of the other settings I've seen referenced in other posts, like a preheat toggle, etc. I assume this is either because those settings apply to an earlier version nest, or with radiant heat selected, these options aren't available.
I just want to have the thermostat funcion according to the schedule I've set. I'm considering stating that my heat source is Forced Hot Air, or just making the schedule start 2 hours later. Is this really how the Nest is designed to work?

Hi @dbcyclist57,
Thanks for posting in the Community. I understand that you want to stop your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) from preheating. I really appreciate the valuable information you provided about your system, and I'm glad to assist you.
It looks like you have Early-On activated. This feature works similarly to preheating an oven to make cookies: the system starts heating early to ensure it reaches the target temperature by the time you are ready.
To understand more about how this feature works and turn off please review this article: Learn about Early-On.
Let us know if that helps resolve the issue.

Thanks so much z- that worked! I was looking for a setting called Preheat and didn’t realize it would be the Early On setting that I needed.
