I'm unable to use the nest app or the Google home app to adjust the heat on my learning thermostat. It appears I need to add it as a new product again. This is the same nest I have been using for years. I'm told I need a key, but when I go into the settings I only get a message saying that it is already attached to an account and can't go any further. Please help solve this issue so that I can use the app to adjust the thermostat.

Hi Egdaddyman,
Thank you for reaching out and bringing your concern to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you are facing with your Nest Learning Thermostat. We understand the importance of having a seamless experience controlling your thermostat through the Nest app and Google Home app.
To assist you better, could you please try to sign in via the Nest App web using the email account associated with your thermostat? I hope this helps, and you get your Nest thermostat back up and running smoothly!

When I login with Google, it asks me to choose an account. I click on my account, then it asks me to sign in with Google, then it keeps repeating. It just loops between choosing to sign in with Google, then asking me to choose my account.

Hi there Egdaddyman,
Aside with sign in with Google, do you see an option to sign in with Nest? If yes, please select sign in with Nest and choose your account. Let us know how it goes.
Best,
Jenelyn

If you mean sign in with the Nest app, I can do that, but have no control of the thermostat.

Hey Egdaddyman,
Thanks for keeping us in the loop. I'd like to take a closer look at it. Since you have the Nest Learning Thermostat, you can only add it to the Nest app, so we'll stick to that. I'd like to confirm, what you're seeing in the app? Do you see any specific message or code? It will help us with troubleshooting steps we should perform. Is the thermostat offline in the app, or is your thermostat missing there?
Kind regards,
Jenelyn

The thermostat is missing in the app. It is connected online to our wifi.

Hello there Egdaddyman,
Thanks for the confirmation. Let's add your thermostat back to the Nest app. For you to be able to add your Nest Thermostat to the app you must have an Entry Key that you can find under the Nest app option on your thermostat. I suggest restarting your thermostat Account Connection before adding it to the app.
You can follow these steps:
Let me know how it goes.
Best regards,
Jenelyn

I don't have account connection in Reset. I have restart, Auto schedule, away, Network and all settings

Hey Egdaddyman,
Gotcha. Let us proceed with a factory reset by selecting All Settings under Reset. This will delete your schedule and equipment settings. Once your thermostat is done resetting, just follow the prompt, as it will guide you to the setup.
Please keep me posted.
All the best,
Jenelyn

After the reset, The Nest app is now online with the thermostat. Will I be able to control it through Google Home or will I just want to continue with the nest app?

Hi Egdaddyman,
Thanks for the information. After connecting the Nest thermostat to your Wi-Fi, the next step is to pair it with the Nest app. To do this, you'll need to obtain the Entry code from the Nest thermostat itself. To get the Entry Key, navigate to the Settings menu on the thermostat. Look for the Nest App option and select it. Then, choose "Get Entry Key."
To begin the process of connecting your Nest thermostat to your account, follow these steps:|
1. Open the Nest app on your smart device and sign in to your account if prompted.
2. On the app's home screen, tap the "Settings" icon.
3. Select the "Add product" option.
4. Choose "Continue without scanning" and select the specific type of Nest thermostat you're trying to add.
5. Follow the instructions provided in the Nest app. When prompted, enter the Entry Key code displayed on your thermostat's screen.
Once you've entered the Entry Key code, the Nest app will add your thermostat to your account. You'll see your thermostat appear on the app's home screen. By tapping the thermostat's icon, you can access its controls and modify its settings.
Thanks for the help, @Jenelyn.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Cheers,
Edmond
