Upstairs not cooling

Msvje0073

Hello

We have 2 HVAC systems with Smart Nest systems in our home that have been running well for over 3 years. A couple weeks ago we noticed that the upstairs wasn’t cooling as it should . We have it set to 70 but it never seems to get lower than 78. We keep trying to make it cooler and it says it will take 6 hours to lower 8 degrees. But it never gets to 70. When we check the vents we can feel the cool air coming out.. any suggestions?

Hi Msvje0073,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? You can visit this link to check what type of thermostat you have. Do you see any messages or codes on your thermostat or in the app? Please provide your thermostat power readout.

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. Open the Google Home app and then tap the thermostat and then tap Settings .
  2. Select the Device Information.
  3. Choose Technical Information.

Also, please check your thermostat Energy History. It might help you see what your thermostat was doing previously. You can visit this support article on how to check Energy History in the thermostat or in the Nest app.

Best,

Jenelyn
