If I switch my Nest to off (no heat or AC) and disconnect my internet will it maintain the 45° safety temp to fire the furnace so my pipes don't freeze? I had read that if you disconnect the wifi, the Nest will operate like a standard thermostat. We left to go on an extended vacation and I disconnected my wifi and set the temp to 50 degrees manually. After traveling for 2 months, we came back to find the Nest had reverted back to our standard program of 68° during the day and 65° for sleep. We are now leaving for 3 months and I want to be sure the house stays at 45° without paying for the heat we are not using.
