Why is my thermostat turning itself off?

DAR

It keeps turning itself off for some reason.  What could be causing this?

Which Nest thermostat do you have?

How is it wire? Can you post a picture of the base wiring?

It's the learning thermostat and it's wired correctly and the battery is also good but it intermittently turns to the off mode and then I have to turn it on again.  All the settings are correct as well🤔

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out — I'd love to help. Your thermostat's energy history can help explain why your Nest Thermostat unexpectedly turned on or off, or why the temperature changed. You can follow the steps below to check your thermostat energy history.

Home app

  1. Open the Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your thermostat's tile > Energy dashboard.
  3. Select Day, Week, or Month.

 Nest app

  1. Open the Nest app and tap your Nest thermostat on the home screen.
  2. Tap History for a 10-day summary.
  3. Tap on any day to learn more  details about why the temperature changed.

On your thermostat

  • Nest Learning Thermostat: Open the Quick view menu, then select History.
  • Nest Thermostat E: Go to Settings > History.

I think I figured it out.  I had home/awayassist turned on.  Is that what was causing this   🤔

Hey DAR,

Sounds great! To isolate it further, try to disable smart features like Home/Away Assist, and Auto Schedule, then monitor it if the issue persists.

Please take a look at this guide on how to disable smart features:

Home/Away Assist

  1. Go to the thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Select Home/Away Assist then turn it off.

Auto Schedule

  1. Go to the thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Look for Nest Sense.
  3. Select Auto Schedule then turn it  off.

Also, check your calendar icon if there’s a schedule created, as it can also affect the behavior of your thermostat.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Jenelyn

That was the problem thanks.  Question why can't I delete my original post? 👍

How come I can still see my original post and why can't I delete it?  There is an edit option but not a delete option 🤔
