Why would Google think I want my house to be unbearably warm so other people can have cooler homes?
Energy savings and peak time lockouts are ridiculous. I didn’t sign up to save Dominion money. @All

Will you be paying a portion of my mortgage now that you won’t let me adjust my comfort settings when and how they choose? @Google1 @Jsforum @mail_feedback

Hi @NestOfLies,
Thanks for posting in the community page. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Thermostat isn't aligning with your preferences, as it's prioritizing energy savings and peak time lockouts over your personal comfort, which means your home isn't at a comfortable temperature. I understand how frustrating it must be. No worries, I'd be more than glad to assist you.
To better support you, the team would like to learn more about this behavior. When you get a chance, please fill out this form and let us know when you’re finished. We’ll have someone reach out to you via email from there. Please ensure to add the link of this thread and your community username.
Cheers,
Jonathan

I removed the thermostats, added them back to the app, and I didn’t select any energy saving hostile takeover settings. I also opted out of every program I could find and I was able to regain control of my home.
I’m in the process of switching to echo show, echo dot, ring video doorbell, ring outdoor cameras, ecobee thermostats, and Schlage encode smart deadbolts.
The nest app is superior to Google home and now Google has forced me to use two apps which removes a barrier to switching to the competition.
