Last year my boiler would trip randomly when the heating was scheduled to come on.
I had british gas come out and check the boiler but could find nothing wrong with it as it had basically been replaced with new main board and heat exchanger a few months before when it was tripping out.
The engineer said that there was a dirty signal coming from the heat link but the tripping issue went away and only happened a few times until last month when it has been tripping the boiler every time and only after resetting the boiler a few times will it come back on and provide heating and hot water.
Is this a faulty heat link and how do I get a replacement ?

I have no idea what a dirty signal is, as the Heat Link works mechanically to your boiler. The only signal would be from from the display to the Heat Link, and then mechanically to your boiler.
Just treat your Heat Link like a switch nothing else, it just switches the boiler on and off when calling for heat. I doubt this is anything to do with the Heat Link.
I would think if the boiler is tripping, a valve or pump might be more the issue.
