google home and nest thermostat

Hi. Through google home I am able to change the temperature, but the heating does not turn on or off. It only works when I manipulate the nest thermostat itself. What can I do to fix this? I do see the device on my google home and on my phone it seems to be working fine,.

You mean after your target temperature is reached, your thermostat doesn't stop? Have you tried resetting the thermostat?

Thanks for posting in Google Nest Community forum, @LarryK.

I wanted to see if you've tried to reset your Nest Thermostat to factory default. if not, could you give these steps a whirl? 

1. Restart your thermostat by going to settings, or remove the thermostat from base then remove the batteries for at least 3 minutes before plugging them back in to refresh.
2. Reboot your phone
3. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
4. Log in to the app with the same credentials.
