heat pump compressor and fan will not shut down when should cycle

Have problem with heat pump compressor and fan continuously on.  Even if heat notification orange glow turns off when at set temp.  No cycling.  Double checked proper wiring being 5 wire feed including C wire.  On B setting because O only blows cold air in heat mode. Need to reset thermostat and then when reboots fan and compressor does not restart spontaneously appropriately.  No error codes.  Charged battery with USB first to perform installation.  No issues when running old Honeywell thermostat.  Did confirm comparability.  Any suggestions?

Thank you for the reply.  I reached out to customer service and after troubleshooting had the learning gen 3 thermostat replaced under warranty.  Involved HVAC technician for installation and was told heat pump had unconventional wiring for electric heat/ac setup.  Moved OB wire to W terminal and now all good.   Very happy.

Hi rsilb3,

Thank you for reaching out and we're sorry to hear about what's happening.

We could further check the issue by getting a photo of your current wire configuration. We could also check the right heat source and type by going to settings > equipment then select the right heat type and source.

Let us know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Best regards,

Ryan
