I have a client who has Nest Thermostat in his current home. One Nest controls 3 zones (air-handlers) and he can access it from his I-pad. He wants this at his new home. This home has 9 mini-split zones. If you understand multi-zoned split systems, these 9 small air-handlers are connected to 4 condensers. My questions are how many zones can one Nest control? Which type of Nest would you suggest? Is Nest appropriate for multi-zone split systems?

I'm not aware of Nest having the ability to control multiple zones
A zone system requires one thermostat per zone and typically involves a Zone Controller that interfaces all the zones to a single HVAC system. The number of zones that can be controlled depends on the size of the zone controller.
