Installing a Linux variable speed furnace and a two-stage AC system. Question one is the nest gen 4 compatible with a variable speed motor question?

Question two, the old system had a automatic damper vent control for bringing inoutside air. Can this be controlled with the nest gen 4?

Question 3 what are the AQ +/-for on the back plate?

Hi, @jlh1051,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I appreciate you sharing your concerns about your Nest thermostat Gen 4. I'm happy to assist you in addressing your questions.

Question 1: Just to clarify, when you mention the "speed furnace," are you referring to the blower fan, the heating element, the cooling component, or the entire HVAC system? Additionally, I would appreciate it if you shared a picture of your wiring configuration. It will help to identify if your system is compatible.

Question 2: As an improvement and for a better experience, the Nest Thermostat Gen 4 is compatible with ventilation systems. You can find more information in this article: Systems that are Nest-compatible.

Question 3: The AQ+ and AQ-terminals are for the in-home dehumidifier. These terminals can accept 1-wire or 2-wire VENT, HUM, or DEHUM. For more information, refer to this article: Identify a thermostat wire

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Ana
