Hi Ted3232,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat E is turning down at all hours, even though you turn the schedule down and drop down to 63, 65, or 68. I understand how frustrating it is to continue trying the thermostat to follow the schedules without success. No worries, help is here.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • Do you have a Rush Hours or Nest Renew subscription?
  • When did the inconvenience first occur?
  • Are there any error messages?
  • Is the Nest thermostat newly installed?
  • Does the inconvenience happen with both heating and cooling?
  • Have you received any error messages?
  • Have there been any recent changes or upgrades to your HVAC system?
  • Is the Nest Thermostat able to turn on just manually?

Besides this information, please check the following conditions:

  • Check the energy history to see if some features are causing the unusual thermostat activation. For more information, see this article: Thermostat Energy History.
  • Check that the wires are fully inserted into the terminal and the connector buttons are securely pushed down. This ensures proper wire connections. For reference, you can check out this article: Troubleshoot strange heating or cooling behavior. Important: Before touching any wires, turn off the power to your HVAC system at the breaker box.

Thanks for your kind attention, I will be looking forward to your answer.

Best regards,

Virna
