It's frustrating whenever google releases updates to its mesh devices, it brings a lot of issues and it won't be fixed immediately. 14150.376.32 update was installed silently onto all my devices(nest wifi and google wifi routers). I observed connection drops very frequently, so decided to power cycle all the routers, it didnt resolve the issues. I have now done the factory reset of all devices and reinstalled the whole mesh unfortunately it has not resolved the issues. Connection dropouts, routers going offline on the android app, but white steady connection light on the routers. awful devices. I have invested quite a lot of money n time, but still no steady mesh set-up. F**** you google

Hey folks,
Thanks for posting — let's see what's going on.
Are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? How many devices are dropping from the network? Also, do you have any paused devices?
Give these steps a try:
Let us know how it goes.

Hello @King500 and everyone interested, I gave up and just did the daily reboot when needed while waiting for the next firmware update. Somehow my internet become stable for most recent 1-2 weeks. I didn't do anything at all and I checked my firmware version it is still 14150.376.32, and my model is a set of 3 AC-1304. I am suspecting there are some server side settings on google side. Just report my data point hope it may help some people, and hope they don't put the death note on my model again....

That would make sense. I replace my main router last week with a google provided replacement with the same firmware. At about the same time, the dropouts/resets stopped. I still get wired/wireless "pauses" for 5 to 10 seconds a couple of times a day but it self-corrects. I don't have to reboot any more.

I’m also on firmware 14150.376.32. Is this the latest firmware (as of Mar 10, 2023)?
03-10-2023 11:31 AM
As far as I can tell. Google mesh routers auto-update without notification.

Thanks. Yeah it seems 376.32 is still most current. Hopefully next update will address some of the issues.

I think I have finally had it with google nest wifi.. They have not provided a software update and I have had so many presentations and web conference calls drop out that I can no longer see fit to keeping this system.
Any ideas on a replacement???

I just finished replace four google mesh routers with four TP-Link X90 decos. It was very easy and smooth. The decos seem to be faster and provide great coverage.

BUT, do you get the random network drops, lock ups, hangs, complete freezes, etc? I use my Google nest wifi for the sole purpose of just not knowing when our internet will stop working and give me the opportunity to trouble shoot. The high cost and low performance is the best combination. Other benefits include assisting Google technicians in troubleshooting their inferior firmware while in production. I prefer to use technology products that don't fully work as advertised. I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I get to partner with their tech teams to find solutions to problems I should've never experienced.

LOL! And I love spending $500 to replace those wonderful Google routers too!

Just started hitting this issue, assuming because my router updated firmware. working from home full time and running three business this is simply unacceptable from a company like Google. i understand if i purchased this off of kickstarter but to have something unusable is insane.
never thought i'd say this but i plan on shopping for a new mesh system tomorrow. any recommendations from fellow google nesters who are fed up? preferably one that comes with better customer support and a more engaged tech support team that resolves customer problems. thanks for the recommendations!

I picked up TP-Link AX6600 Deco Tri-Band WiFi 6 Mesh System(Deco X90) - Covers up to 6000 Sq.Ft, Replaces Routers and Extenders, AI-Driven and Smart Antennas, 2-Pack (Renewed). No dropouts at all for the last two weeks. They were about half price (renewed) and I replace 4 Google routers with 4 of these. Wifi is faster and the Deco app is great. They also worked with Google Home and all my other smart devices. Just make sure you use the same network name and password when you set them up as you did with the google mesh.

Add me to the list! I thought it was some powerline interference that made my hub just ding, but now I know it was a crap Google software update that I can't even opt-out. Thanks, Google.
Since they dropped the Don't be evil from their code of conduct, they went full berserk, "I don't give a crap", like they bought f**** nest in 2014 and in 2022 they didn't integrate the apps and cameras.

I saw a few people moving to TP-Link Deco. Beware that they are crap if you also have an ethernet network running parallel with the Wifi. When the internet is down, it also drops the ethernet connection: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/273992?sortDir=ASC&page=1

I keep having problems even after following all the guidelines above. The Google Nest cable outbound speed continues to slow down to 50% of the ISP's cable inbound speed. I feel like I paid a lot for equipment that doesn't perform anywhere near what it should in terms of stability and volume, what does Google have to say about it?

Having the same issues with 14150.376.32 and very frustrated. Nothing discussed in this thread has helped. Is there any news/info about an update coming soon? Seems like this has been a long standing issue. Some communication would be appreciated.

Google is going to a **bleep** place, Nest Wifi do not work properly, Google Speakers losing funcionatily due infringment copyright, Google Nest Secure will be completely shutdown in 2024. In all these cases no answers, no fix, no care from Google. I will gradually abandon google after all this.

Thank you for sharing. I am looking at TP Link. But they are not cheap either. I have been reading a lot of positive reviews on them.
04-19-2023 11:48 AM
See my post above. The refurbs from Amazon were much cheaper than the new. I have had ZERO issues since replacing the google pieces of crap. Wifi is faster. Ethernet is running at 900/800. They have updated the TP-Link firmware twice. They notify you and ask if you want to update. Takes a couple of minutes but both times worked without a hitch. The app is much better than googles. Gives you more control. It sucks that google took a product that had been working great for 5 years and (I believe) intentionally disabled it. Someone should start a class action lawsuit.
04-19-2023 12:22 PM
For the TP Link, i am eye balling the Deco X55. I think it has everything i need but I am waiting for the price to drop a little. I have seen it go on sale on Amazon so i will wait a bit.

Having the same issues with my network, really only noticed it since it is requires a reboot twice a day for the last 4 days with 14150.376.32 and very frustrated. Nothing discussed in this thread has helped.

I’ve completed the form because I’ve struggled with this for weeks and nothing has solved my issues. I’ve wasted so much time and am sooo frustrated! Especially because it has worked perfectly for years and stopped for no apparent reason. Reading these posts help me feel like I’m not crazy.
05-21-2023 04:50 AM
You're not crazy!
05-21-2023 05:03 AM
Without a solution from Google, what a shame for a brand to do this.
05-21-2023 06:16 AM
If only we could roll back to the early firmware, which in my experience was rock solid for the first 2-3 years of ownership. Come on Google I am a big advocate for your products, but these issues are something I would expect a start up with a dozen developers to fix in a month MAX !
05-25-2023 06:36 PM
I'm seeing the same issue. And lan speed down to 100mb when always it was working to 1000mb
05-31-2023 12:49 AM
When is next firmware update, Google? We should have option to roll back to stable working version. I wish I can do a return.
05-31-2023 01:51 AM
Don't bother. Their business model is based on no one being able to contact them or log faults. Just throw the junk away and buy a different product (I got TP-Link Deco X95 and it's great), and be sure to not buy any more Google manufactured hardware. Lesson learned.
06-05-2023 02:01 PM
Absolutely terrible recommended answer. This version of firmware still has drop outs and I've lost lots of productivity working from home attempting to troubleshoot this. The only permanent solution for anyone browsing this thread with the same problem is to purchase another router that actually works.
06-06-2023 09:41 AM
I am still facing issues even after a factory reset.
06-06-2023 03:57 PM
I love the fact this has been almost a year since my firmware was updated so still occassionally get this issue. Less so now than before since changed Broadband provider. Yet the IOS app has changed it's design twice moving my cheese on management often.

I had a similar experience in that my Brother wifi printer just stopped connecting one day. I started a wifi hotspot on an old router I had lying around and the printer was able to see it, so I assumed it was my google wifi router. Turns out the printer was not looking for routers on channel 6, and that was the channel google wifi was using. I live in an urban area, and you can use an app like this one to see all the wifi routers and what channel they are using. Using the app, I could see my router on channel 6, as well as other wifi routers in my building, and my printer was not detecting them. In addition, I saw instructions (I forget where I saw this exactly) for the printer to set your router to use channel 11 if you are having trouble connecting to wifi.
So I guess there may have been an update to firmware or a power outage, and my router rebooted and changed which channel it was using (perhaps because the other channels were crowded at the time of the reboot).
In case it helps, my printer is the Brother DCP-L2540DW, and it only connects to wifi 2.4 GHz. Since you can't control which channel Google Wifi uses, I tried updating the printer's firmware and it worked - the new firmware was able to see Google Wifi on channel 6. So in a nutshell - what may seem like the fault of Google Wifi is not always the case...

Exact same problem. Google please notify the developers responsible for this nest wifi firmware. Please find and fix this problem. Do not ask users to trouble shoot a problem only the Google developers can solve.

Hello Steverg,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for this experience.
If you've already tried all the steps suggested above, please send feedback to our product team so they can check on the crash log reports from your Wifi devices. In that way, they'll be able to investigate and work on the issue that you're having.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.
Best,
Lovely

I'm pretty sure the product team has been receiving tons of feedback about this since the update came out and broke everything. I sent in my feedback about it like 6 or 7 months ago, and still nothing has been done about it.
