So, I have Google Nest Pro mesh and I am attempting to add more points to my existing one.
When I open the Home app, then tap the +, then scan the QR code from the bottom of the new Pro, it locates the device successfully, but then it immediately says, now plug in the network cable.
I am not using Ethernet backhaul, but it's as though it won't let me add any further points without doing it this way, which is odd (new device is close enough for signal from other Pro devices).
I've factory reset the one I have tried to add a few times without any success (same results each time).
From what I can tell, it's trying to add the new Wifi Pro as a router, instead of an access point, but I can't see any option to add a point to an existing network.
Any ideas from others that may have personal experience with the Google Nest Pro mesh system would be incredibly helpful.
There must be something simple I am missing here 😕

Hi simmelbourne,
Thanks for reaching out to our community.
I understand you're having trouble adding a new Nest Wifi Pro Point to your existing mesh network. I can see why you feel like you must be missing something simple, considering the Google Home app is incorrectly identifying your new point as a router that needs a wired connection rather than a mesh point for your existing network. I appreciate your detailed description of what's happening; it helps me better understand what you’re experiencing. Don’t worry, help is here.
