Adding devices to mesh

I have had to rebuild my Google mesh wifi. I have set up my primary point, every time I try and add another point it keeps failing and seemingly trying to connect to a network with the reference of the points setup  network. This doesn’t work but surely it should be trying to connect to the home network established in setting up the primary point.

Ive seen postings on this but no one seems to have an answer and this is thus a waste of hundreds of pounds of kit thanks google,
