Adding second Nest Router fails

MFCDubai

Hello all,

I have read all the threads, and am still at a loss.

I have a nest router and point working perfectly for 18 months. Now I want to add another router as an access point ( wired or wireless, I don't mind.

I have done the factory reset (several times), and tried setup with and without a cable from the current nest router into the input side. Tried three different iOS devices, etc etc.

The setup result is the same every time.

The device is found, QR code read, Setupxxx.xxx wifi connected, analytics accepted, then sets up mesh, then tries to connect to setup wifi again (second time) and fails with a connection error. I have watched the wifi with another device, and the first time it is visible it can be connected to by the setup  - or another device, but the second time after mesh setup message, it cannot - either by the home app or the other device - it is as if the password has been changed...

Any help appreciated, as I have spent more than a few hours on this already!

Are you using an iOS device for the setup? Then see:

Hello again, I was about to give up, but I tried one last thing,  and that was reset the whole network, factory reset the two routers and the point. I then re-set-up the router, added the second router as a point, and then the point. All working now - thanks for all the assistance.
