Connecting Google Nest Wifi - AC2200 to Motorola MB7621 Modem Not Working

Hi,

I have been using the Google AC1200 mesh wifi for years and there have not been any issues. I purchased the AC2200 router and attempted to replace the AC1200 router. I can go through the setup process and things look like they are moving along properly. Google Home app recognizes the device and it gets to the point of saying "connected" in the app, but then as it gets to the final step of finalizing connection, I get various error messages. Ultimately, the setup does not proceed from there. I have seen some stuff about issues using Apple devices for setup, but I don't have any other option. Setting up the AC1200 with my iPhone has not been a problem at all. Is there a way to tell if I just have a faulty device, or if there is something else I can try to get this set up? Thanks in advance!

Hi @DroyDa13,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Google AC1200. I'll be more than happy to assist you.

To isolate the issue, could you please confirm if you have any of the following error messages? If the error message is not listed, please provide me with the specific error message you have.

  1. Modem issue
  2. Connection failed
  3. Operation could be completed.

I'll be looking for your reply,

Best regards,

Derick.

I think I'll give up on this based on your response that kind of shows you didn't read my concerns very well. Thanks anyways.
