Connection Problem with Chromebook to GFiber/Nest

All my devices connect with my nest/G fiber except for my Chromebook. The Chromebook connects and says no Internet. I’ve done all the shutdowns  and restarts of everything multiple times. my Chromebook is up-to-date. I have two iPhones, a Mac, a PC, and Amazon fire on my TV and all connect. I’ve also turned all of them off to see if the Chromebook would connect with no other interference.  Is there something I have to do specifically to have it reach a Chromebook? The Chromebook connects to all other Wi-Fi’s I’ve ever tried, including my hotspot, so the only problem is Chromebook to G fiber. if anyone knows anything about this problem, I would greatly appreciate a response. I can’t be the only person that has this problem?

Hi Kreyna96,

Thank you for posting in the community! I understand your Chromebook won't connect to the internet on your Google Fiber/Nest Wi-Fi setup, even though all your other devices connect perfectly. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue; that definitely helps us move forward with finding a solution. No worries, I can definitely help you with this!

To better assist you with this situation, I'd like to ask for the following information:

  • Do you use a modem or a modem/router combo?
  • Are you using a Nest Wi-Fi system, a Google Wi-Fi system, or is it the Google Fiber provided router?
  • When the Chromebook connects but says "No Internet," what is the exact, full error message that appears in the Wi-Fi status area?
  • Did the Chromebook ever successfully connect to this specific network in the past?
  • Did you recently change the name (SSID) or the password for your Wi-Fi network?

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
