Recently moved house but my PC online wants to connect to one Wi-Fi ping that OS now the furthest away from the device. Is there some way to reset or force a device to connect to a desired Wi-Fi point. Using Google nest mesh Wi-Fi

Got it thanks. Wondered if there was some persistent connection due to the previous proximity in the old house.

Hello @Wookiee77

WiFi devices decide which access point (and which band) to connect to. Google/Nest WiFi provides some extra information (in the form of 802.11k and 802.11v) that can help clients make better decisions (including when to hand off from one AP/band to another). However, not all WiFi clients support those specifications, and they are on their own to make those decisions. Some do a better job than others. It sounds like your PC is in that category. You may have some luck getting it to connect to a closer AP by briefly disabling (for 30 seconds or so) the WiFi interface and then enabling it again. That may trigger a re-scan and reconnect that will let it see and connect to the stronger access point.

Possibly, but I would consider that unlikely. There are a lot of... "odd"... WiFi client implementations out there, and some can be "sticky" across reboots. But, most PC-based clients shouldn't do that.
