Devices not connecting to strongest wifi signal Nest Pro

I have had google 1Gb with 3 Nest Pro mesh devices for 6 months.  It has worked very well for the first 4-5 months.  Over the last month or so everyone in the house is complaining about slow wifi.  When I check the google home app I can see the device that is performing poorly is connected to the farthest Nest device and not switching to a much closer device.  If I turn off the wifi on the poor performing device and turn it back on it will usually connect to the stronger signal nest device and work fine until i move to a further point in the house and the issue occurs again.

What i dont understand is I have changed nothing since i installed everything and it worked great for the first 4-5 months without issues.

My 3 Nest pro devices are wired together.  I have a 2 story home and each mesh is at least 30 feet from the other.  If I ever do a speed test from any nest devices it is 1gb which is what my service is.  I have 7 devices I roam with, 2 laptops, 1 android, 2 ipads and 2 iphones and all have the issue of not switching to the strongest mesh point.

Hi

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that your devices are not connecting to the strongest WiFi signal Nest Pro. I will do my best to assist you right now.

To get a better understanding of the situation, please help me out by answering the following questions:

  • When did the issue first occur?
  • What is the light Status of the main router?
  • Have you done some troubleshooting steps? If so, can you list them?
  • Have you already talked with your Internet service provider?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Regards,

Gabriela
